What adventure tonight has been. We started off the evening seeing the movie Into the Storm, which was a decent movie if you like storms. We tend to like them. Wonderful graphics by the way.
Then after the movie Clay threw out that we should go look for sights to take picture of the Super Moon that will shining full in all its glory on Sunday. We started out hitting downtown, because we knew we wanted the skyline of downtown to be in the picture. Oh, did I tell you we are taking the picture ourselves for the book cover?
We debated and debated on which rooftop we thought we could get onto and then opted for a parking garage rooftop. But it had to be just the right one as we knew which buildings we wanted in the picture, but to get the moon coming up between them, well it had to be the right location, right angle and quick frankly some damn good luck.
We decided on a parking garage but when we got on the roof top, it wasn't the right angle. So we left the car there and took off on foot. We tried a bridge top, a parking lot, up on the level for the BOK skyscraper entrance to their downtown entrance. We got some beautiful pictures, but it just didn't feel like the right one. So we were off again.
We took off on 412 towards Gilcrease but couldn't find the right view that wasn't obstructed by trees (love them dearly and thank them for their oxygen, but not very good for capturing a view of downtown). Then we were off to Centennial Park where we just knew there would be some gorgeous views of downtown. Guess what? They had gorgeous views of downtown, but you had to see it through the trees. Catching a theme here. Yes, Tulsa is loaded with gorgeous trees and we love them, so being the troopers we are we set out for Riverside Drive.
Along the way, we both had a thought about the same time. What about the top of the parking garage at Hillcrest Hospital? Bingo, we had our unobstructed view. We got some gorgeous pics that we hope will work for the cover, but time will tell.
We were having so much fun we thought, why don't we get some pictures of some very key spots in the book. And yes, by this time it is getting late, but we are having a blast. We ended up going to three more places but I wont tell you about all of them. I want to save some revelations for the book. But I will say that Riverside Pedestrian Bridge is gorgeous at night. I highly recommend it.
Well, it is late and I am late getting this blog out tonight, but I hope you enjoy it and get some of the humor of our night.
Have a peaceful night!
