BLUE MOON - Chapter 52, Excerpt 1

“I summon thee, the one to be, the one who lost their life. I summon thee, the one to be, the one who lost their life. I summon thee, the one to be, the one who lost their life. Power of the witches rise, come to me, I call you near. Come to me and settle here. Blood of my blood, I summon thee, blood of my blood, return to me. Elizabeth Helen Petran, blood of my blood, my grandmother, I summon thee,” Gina chanted as she was calling out to the universe, calling out to her dead grandmother to come to her. Gina dug deep within herself to pull on all powers, ancient and current, to bring her grandmother across that divide.

BLUE MOON - Chapter 51, Excerpt 1

Victor was not just an assassin; he was a life-long loyal member of the Balashon and he would make the best of this. He hoped he would be the one to finish the preparation for the master’s arrival but as he learned before with this council, he should expect the unexpected every time. But there was still salvation for Victor; he still laid out the plan of all plans; one the Balashon could not have predicted. The master would love this with all of his being, with all of his glory; he will see this as an honorable measure of Victor’s faithful service to him.

The salvation of Victor’s legacy would not be dictated by some warriors who have been silently waiting in the wings while Victor has been here doing battle on the master’s behalf. He would have his day, he would have his redemption in the master’s eyes and he will command an army for the master, one that would reap worldwide destruction. Man’s weapons could not harm the master; he would be immortal, invincible. The witches of this day and age do not hold the power to condemn his master back to the hell in which he is clawing his way back from. What awaited now was time, two more days until the moon is full, until it shines blue for the master’s return.

This was yet another mystery they had to solve. The Tulsa police were good at their job, but they didn't have all the facts of the case Demetri and Gina had. They wished they could share the details with the TPD, but neither of them saw anything good coming from it. So they were on their own, hitting the streets, looking for clues as the ticking clock got ever closer to the full moon approaching. It had already reached its formation of the first day of a three moon cycle. The third day would be when the moon is blue, so time was quickly running out on them.

When they came to a stop, Alex heard a key being placed into the door and the door opening. It creaked a little at first, and then he was being led through the door into a room. As the door shut behind him and locked, he was led over to the bed where he was forced to sit down. As he sat there, the bag was removed from his head, and as his eyes adjusted, he could see he was in a beautifully decorated room. It had a large bed on which he was sitting and a chair along the wall with lighting in the ceiling; no lamps as he assumed they could be used as a weapon if one so wanted. There were some magazines, which he figured are there to keep him occupied.

As he left the room and went into one of the others he immediately got, a sense something wasn't right. He was hit by a feeling of loss, of sorrow as if something horrible and tragic happened in this room. As he looked around he was searching for any clue that might lead him to figuring out why he was there. He would even take a ghost at this point to help him out. Demetri noticed this room had a bathroom attached so he walked inside and turned the light on. Before he got the light switch flipped up and turned on his nose was hit by the smell of death, the smell of fresh blood. As his eyes focused to the light he saw a girl, a woman, lying in the bathtub as if she just sat down in it the wrong way with her legs hanging out of the tub, her throat cut from jugular to jugular. There was blood everywhere.

As they walked out the door and climbed into Demetri’s jeep Demetri looked over at Alex. “Ok, I have one rule,” Demetri said looking at Alex. Alex nodded his head waiting for Demetri to tell him what the one rule was.

“If the shit hits the fan, you fall back behind me and let me deal with it. Got it?” Demetri said to him waiting for a verbal answer. The head shaking wasn't going to cut it.

“Ok, ok, I got it. Shit hits the fan I get behind you,” Alex said to Demetri, who was ready to kick some ass.

Victor busied himself by making sure he was ready. He sharpened his knives and got his other weapons ready. He even had guns ready for when the guards arrived so they would have the needed weapons to patrol and protect the perimeter of the mansion. At the sign of any unexpected movement, they were to shoot first and ask questions later. Later today, the house staff who are employed by the Balashon would be arriving to get the house running smoothly, take care of the prisoners and prepare for the arrival of the Balashon dignitaries staying with them. The mansion was a large enough everyone would be comfortable, safe and ready to begin the final tasks needed to usher the master back into this world, back onto his throne.

If you thought about it, thousands of years of descendants existing through many wars, famine, disease, and world destruction, the fact that the line of Bastiquil’s bastard offspring survived was amazing. How did this happen? He knew it could, but the chances were stacked against a young girl and her child. There were people loyal to Bastiquil back then just as there had been people loyal to Demetri, but could the people loyal to Bastiquil have helped to raise this child, protect it, make sure it birthed a child of its own, and so forth and so forth? The implications were staggering. Just thinking about it made him somewhat nauseous.
