Thanks for all who are participating in the Reading Club. I know we all have busy lives, so this means a lot to me that you are here. This is a forum where we can interact together and you as the reader can hear some of the thoughts behind the words.

When I first sat down to write the book, I had intended on writing about a vampire, who was living in Tulsa. What actually happened is what you have in front of you today. The book, the characters and the story ended up telling itself, coming to life as each page was written.

Some may ask why such a provocative approach? Well, life is provocative and each day is a new chance to do it over, a new way, a different approach. The characters were the same way. They took me on the same ride they did you.

In the Prologue, I wanted to introduce you to how the Balashon came about in the way I felt would be an interesting way to do it. A powerful, elderly witch, being tortured by the demon for information on a vision she had regarding the demon.

I grew up in Oklahoma, in Braggs, so it was important for me to create a local feel to the book, and have some of the characters grow up in Braggs. This is what I know, so it was important to me to stick to the basics as I created a fantasy world that wasn't there, but the local back drop was. As for Tulsa, well this is where I live. I love this city and its rich history.

I welcome any thoughts, questions or insights that you may have on the first 10 chapters.

Thanks again for joining and I look forward to hearing from you.
