BLUE MOON - Chapter 23, Excerpt 1

Demetri once again fell to his knees, blood still dripping from his nose and a gash along his eyebrow from the forceful blows the man had delivered to him. Gina ran over to Demetri as he was struggling to get on his feet again and helped him up. They both walked together towards the entrance of the bar. To their surprise, the man was not there. All that was there was the remains of a wall where now a hole was. Who the fuck was this man, Demetri thought to himself? He had not seen anyone to date who could force their way through his powers, fight back at him and leave him this damned drained. Demetri felt he had not seen the last of this man either, which made him a bit happy as his ego was a bit bruised along with his face.

Demetri and Gina stepped out into the night air, both breathing heavily, both feeling the beating their bodies just took and both needing to just sit for a minute to collect their thoughts. Sitting down on the sidewalk with their back up against the building they sat in silence for a few minutes the only thing you could hear was the deep breathing coming from both. Inside, the bar was buzzing about what just happened. It wasn’t unusual for a fight to break out every now and then, but this one was epic. The underworld would be talking about it for some time to come. As the talk spread throughout the bar, there were many creatures who were overly pleased by this turn of events. Many were glad to see the male witch meet his match? Some were only sorry the masked man was not able to finish him off.
